The New Bus Station Will Open on 30th September 2021

From Thursday 30 September 2021, all regional bus lines starting and terminating at the main bus station in Bratislava will start and finish their routes at the new bus station. The arrival and departure times of the bus services will stay the same.

The bus station is located in the underground on floor -1 and it is part of the new shopping complex Nivy. The station has 7 platforms for arrivals and 36 platforms for departures, out of which the first 11 platforms will be dedicated to long distance and international lines and 25 platforms, numbered 12 – 36, will serve for regional lines.

The area around the new bus station will be served by city public transport similarity as today. The nearest city public transport stops are “Autobusová stanica” and “Košická”. The stop “Košická” is nearest to the only entrance of the bus station which will be opened nonstop (entrance near the corner of the streets Mlynské Nivy and Svätoplukova).

The customers service centre at the new bus station consists of 6 ticket desks with opening hours from 6 AM until 8 PM during workdays and from 8 AM until 6 PM during weekends and bank holidays. There will be also available electronic information kiosks, on which passengers can search for bus connections.

The area of the bus station is fitted with benches with electric power and USB sockets. There will be free Wi-Fi connection available in the whole area of the station and the area will be monitored with CCTV cameras. The information system consists of a large LED screen placed above the ticket desks, 9 LCD screens in the waiting room, screens informing about departures and arrivals in the arrival area and of a screen at each platform. There will be also other services provided at the station, like left-luggage and lost-and-found services and there will be also a space for breastfeeding and diaper-changing amenities.

The new bus station will be opened nonstop. Access to the station will be through 8 entrances. It will be also possible to access the complex by car. Barrier-free access to the station is secured. Passengers are provided with 6 lifts, escalators and stairs. The whole area of the station will be air-conditioned and a high-capacity ventilation system will secure sufficient exchange of air, so that the air quality will be comparable to the exterior. The waiting room will be heated during the winter.

Important information for passengers

•The interior parts of the temporary bus station at Bottova street will be open until 29 September 2021 11:59 PM.

•The last bus service will depart from the temporary bus station at Bottova street on 30 September at 2:30 AM (bus service to Prague)

Entry into the new bus station will be allowed at midnight from 29th to 30th September 2021. Outside the shopping centre opening hours the entry to the station will be possible only through the entrance near the corner of the streets Mlynské Nivy and Svätoplukova (near the Nivy Tower).

•The first bus service will depart from the new bus station on Thursday 30 September at 3 AM from platform no. 1 (bus service to Vienna airport)
