Single Tickets

Single tickets are valid for one journey on all lines including night ones and you can change with them between lines as you wish. You can also make a return journey as long as you are within the validity of your ticket. The validity is defined by a number or a list of zones and by time. You can travel in the defined number of zones or in specified zones until the expiration of the time validity. Single tickets are the best choice if you travel only occasionally.

How to use the Single tickets?

When travelling within the city boundaries of Bratislava (zones 100 and 101) it is enough for you to watch the information about the time validity of your travel ticket, since all types of ticket are valid in the whole of Bratislava regardless of their zone validity.

When travelling around the Bratislava region you have to know the number of zones or which zones you will be travelling through and how long jour journey will last. You can find the necessary information from the scheme of zones, from the timetable or you can use the fare calculator on our website. If you buy the ticket at the railway station or from a regional bus driver it is enough to know the name of the destination bus stop or railway station and the right ticket will be chosen automatically by the ticket selling system.

Attention, the Bratislava zone 100 has a double price value. This means, that if you are travelling on a single journey ticket through the zone 100, you have to count it twice in the final number of required zones. This exception is already taken into account in the case of other types of ticket.

Examples of calculating the required number of zones

Number of zones or predetermined zones?

In practice you can encounter two types of travel tickets. The tickets bought in advance have only the number of zones they are valid for indicated on them and their validity starts from the point where you validate them. With a 3 zone ticket validated in the zone 255 you can travel 3 zones in any direction.

The tickets bought in the vehicle (exceptionally also tickets bought in advance) have directly on the ticket the exact numbers of zones through which you can subsequently travel. For example, you can use a ticket valid for zones 235, 245 and 255 on a journey from Malacky to Láb.

A network travel ticket doesn’t have a zone limitation which means that within its time validity you can travel in all zones of the IDS BK.

How to determine the time validity of the ticket?

The time validity of the ticket is stated on it and depends on the type of the ticket. Tickets bought in advance have to be validated in a ticket validator immediately after you enter the first vehicle you use on your journey. The ticket validators are located by the entrance doors. When travelling by train you have to validate the ticket before entering the train. You will find the ticket validator on the platform as you approach the train. Until all ticket validators on the train stations are in operation you can board the train only with a ticket validated previously in another vehicle or with a ticket bought at the ticket desk at the railway station, which will have the time validity already printed on it.

You don´t have to validate the tickets bought immediately before the journey in the vehicle. These tickets are valid from the moment you purchased them and the time of their expiration is stated on them.

Where is it possible to buy the tickets?

Single tickets can be bought from:
