Smart Cards

A smart card is a contactless chip card, which in the IDS BK serves as a Travelcard (prepaid travel ticket) or a electronic wallet (eWallet) or both at once. You can use any smart card issued by any of the contracted issuers. It is possible to use all the smart cards to buy any Travelcard you wish. Only some smart cards are compatible with the eWallet. Each smart card issuer has slightly different conditions and prices for issuing a smart card. You can find more information about every type of smart card lower down.

Arriva Mobility Solutions, s. r. o.                                                               (regional bus operator)

From 15 November 2021 new bus operator Arriva Mobility Solutions became a part of of IDS BK.

We will inform all passengers soon about possibilities for buying new travel cards from this operator.




Dopravný podnik Bratislava, a. s.                                                          (city public transport operator)   

The smart card is able to hold both a Travelcard and an eWallet. It is possible to use the internet for buying the Travelcard by the means of the DPB eShop.

You can apply for the smart card at the ticket offices of DPB, a.s. or you can order it electronically through the internet website of DPB.

The smart card is issued on the basis of a filled in and signed application form, which you get at the ticket office. It is necessary to show an identity document together with the application form and to provide a photograph of the size 3 x 3,5 cm.

Slovak Lines, a. s.                                                                        (regional bus operator)

Slovak Lines was regional bus operator in IDS BK until it was replaced with operator Arriva Mobility Solutions.

All travel cards issued by Slovak Lines before 15. 11. 2021 are fully accepted in new operator Arriva Mobility Solutions.

You can use the smart card as a Travelcard. It is possible to buy the Travelcard through the internet by the means of the ZSSK eShop.

You can apply for the smart card at the ticket offices of ZSSK. The smart card is non-transferable between passengers. It is issued for a specific name on the basis of a filled in and signed application form, which you get at the ticket office. It is necessary to show an identity document together with the application form and to provide a photograph of the size 3 x 3,5 cm. In the case you want to apply also for a discount it is necessary to present an appropriate document. The smart card is issued within 30 days after you apply for it and it is valid 10 years. It is possible to use the smart card also for other commercial discounts of ZSSK.

Selected universities and secondary schools

The smart card can be used for a Travelcard as well as for an electronic wallet. It is possible to buy the Travelcards through internet by the means of the DPB and Slovak Lines eShops.

The cards are issued by the schools for their students under the conditions of the individual school.

It is not possible to use the following cards for buying a Travelcard.
